อาทิตย์นี้ เป็นเรื่องของ Correlative Conjunctions หรือคำสันทานผสมที่ใช้เชื่อมความคล้อยตามในเชิงบอกรับ คือ and…too และในเชิงบอกปฏิเสธร่วมกัน คือ and…either คำนี้คนอเมริกันออกเสียงว่า “อีเธอร์” คนอังกฤษออกเสียงว่า “ไอเธอร์”

ดังตัวอย่างที่ ๑

He wants coffee. I want coffee. He wants coffee, and I do too.

ทั่งสองคนต้องการกาแฟเหมือนกัน รวมพูดเป็นประโยคเดียวด้วยการใช้ and…too และในส่วนที่สอง ก็ไม่ต้องใช้กริยา want ซ้ำ ให้ใช้กริยาช่วย do แทน

He doesn’t want tea. I don’t want tea. He doesn’t want tea, and I don’t ether.
